Master Key Systems

A master key systems are a group of locks & keys that have a relationship to each other.

One master being the top key which works on all locks, and then as many keys as required at the ‘bottom’ which may only fit into one lock.

In a business environment the a key system allows the limiting or controlling the areas of access by employees.

In your home a key system allows for one key to open all your doors and locks instead of having multiple keys.

Once we’ve got a plan, we’ll arrive at your business or location to create the key system.  We will set up the key, make new keys and rekey locks where necessary.

In a padlock system, the master key (e.g. the manager’s key) opens all padlocks on the business.

Employee keys lock and unlock only the locks within the employees level of access.  For example:

• Warehouse supervisor
  • key access opens locks within warehouse only
• Office supervisor
  • key access opens locks only within the office area

Master lock padlocks systems only work with the padlocks, and not door keys or locks with an interchangeable core cylinder. Within the master padlock system a record is kept.

A master key record is a listing or record of all the assigned key cuts to the padlock system.

“Rekeying” is when we change the internal pins or wafers within the locks, saving the cost of buying new locks.

The lock is rekeyed to work with a new key, and the older keys will no longer work with those locks. This is a good option not only when you’ve lost your only set of keys, but when others may have copies.

We can either install a master key system or create new keys for your existing system.
